Some Questions Often Asked:
I have got a lot on my plate now and am feeling overwhelmed about where to start. How will you address this with astrology?
We will begin by focusing on clarity of intention and goals. I use the birth chart as a springboard for this conversation, using it to identify talents and resources as well as all the perspectives typically hidden from your view. You will have the comfort of knowing that your decisions are now being made for a more fully informed self.
We will also use transit charts to look at timing with and eye to your priorities as well as your current growth cycles. You will see how to get in sync with your own cycles – monthly, through the seasons, and through five- to seven- year growth periods.
My approach takes sustainable living to a whole new level. You will be learning how to more responsibly use the renewable resource that you are – and with greater efficiency. Getting in sync with your community and environment will only add to your sense of contentment and calm.
How do you approach someone who is simply feeling isolated due to working alone?
I am committed to the communities that I am a part of and know that I could never have gotten where I am today without this support. We will work to build and strengthen your community ties – for this is a crucial part of the work I do with my clients. Knowing your people resources is a crucial part of making changes stick. During this part of our work, you will build resilience both personally and professionally.
It is very difficult for me to keep structure around my spiritual development. How will I find the time?
We will look at ways to stay grounded in day-to-day specifics while learning to integrate your yearnings for a more spiritual approach to life. Our work will bridge the gap between learning theory and real-life application. Spiritual growth happens 9 to 5 these days. It happens during business meetings and while standing in line to buy a coffee. You’ve got to be able to notice the important moments and respond with clarity. Why sacrifice results when you can get to where you want to go without ignoring the intangibles. This is where we begin to do some of the deeper work around taking responsibility and making commitment.
I have worked with other wellness practitioners and have noticed that the changes don’t stick after the motivation and excitement wear off. How will working with you be any different?
My feedback will be behaviorally specific and my focus on your success total. I will support you in making changes that you will love and others will notice. You will be working with someone who is trained in leadership, communication, and facilitation. I am trained to watch, listen, and then hold down the fort and support you to make the tough decisions and changes your potential requires of you.
Six weeks, six months or six years later, you will be able to come back to the homework you did or listen to the MP3 recording of our first session. You can again hear that behaviorally specific information and renew your commitment to realizing your potential. Why else would you invest in this work?
I have never worked with a coach. What can I expect from this process in terms of logistics?
We will typically have sessions every two weeks. I find that this is enough time for clients to try out new behaviors or complete homework, but not so much time that you lose sight of the process. We can work either over the phone or in person, though I find the in-person work more fun, with a greater ease in our communications.
I also give homework assignments due before each session. We use the session to work through the obstacles that have come up. The majority of the work my clients do during our time working together is done during their every day lives and not in session. This work is about using opportunities that occur in life to strengthen our commitments and hone our talents so that we can reach our potential. How could this happen in just one hour per week? Thinking about a sports coach can be helpful here – the coach is a guide but the athlete has to do the work.
The overall length of time that we work together varies on the needs of the client. The shorter coaching packages are designed to give support during the beginning phase of the change process. The longer packages are designed to provide support through the difficult middle part of the process – where you are doing the work, but not necessarily seeing the results yet. Real change often takes time. Once our work is finished, you will still be involved with integrating new skills, routines, and perspectives over the following months. Appropriate time expectations are an important part of a successful change.
I expect my clients to show up for our work with what ever they need for the hour – tea, beverages, etc. I also encourage them to have eaten protein that day so that they can engage in the process and be available to concentrate. The more my clients put into this process, they more they walk away with. In today’s economic climate, value is essential.
